Intel i7 6700k

Hi. I am building my first pc. I have chosen a intel i7 6700k as a cpu. I also have been choosing the rest of the system but the gpu isnt chosen. I have about 100$ left for a gpu. I am unsure if I should buy a gpu for that price point. So should I buy a gpu at that price point when I have a i7 6700k or should I make my system and upgrade with a gpu in about half a year?

Let me put it this way... 400$ CPU... 100$GPU, doesn't sound right, right?  

If you do need the extra cores, then wait it out, or i would say, go for and i5 6600k plus an RX480

If you want to game on the thing then I'd save a bit more and get something decent like a 1070, heck, even a rx 480 would be better suited for that processor.

Well the build is going to be for video editing ect. So I kind of need that cpu. Can you please answer my question?

DO NOT buy a gpu for that price point. Run off of integrated graphics until you can afford one in the 200+$ range. Watch Linus'es videos called low end gpu rant if you need convincing, there's 2 of them.

What will this PC be used for? Pairing a 350$ CPU with a 100$ GPU won't give you good performance in games.

5820k and a good gpu are very important for video editing.

I just thought that the integrated gpu in the cpu will work until I can afford something like the new gtx 1070

For video editing, you might want to concider i7 5820k or i7 6800k.

Then you need to get at least GTX 1070, otherwise it will look like a dumb build

 

It's like having 2500€ worth PC with 1GB ram.

 

Never go cheap on GPU!
