Greetings. I just did a clean re-install of my Windows 7 Home Premium on one of my desktops. I installed drivers from the motherboard CD, then the graphics card driver, and then I started the Windows Updates.

A few updates installed and then I got a message that the Windows Updater itself needs to update to a newer version. It did and now it is stuck on "Checking for updates" for like half an hour. Is this normal?

Seek and you shall find.

you can try rebooting it, its not going to do anything if the update hasnt even started yet
