So, This might not be the usual are my temps good. It is weird. I have an i5 6600k overclocked to 4.6Ghz at 1.275v. I was running some benchmarks really stable working good, but the temps were weird. On all my temp recording apps it was at around 46 degrees C. Also my case wasn't pushing out really hot air. So I wanted to know if it's normal for this to happen. I normally see people with about my same overclock at like 80 degrees or 70.

Yea, normally its 70+ when under load.... Perhaps your reading the wrong sensor, have you tried using different software's to get readings?

Also how long are you running the tests?

Well, make sure your software readings are accurate. If you've got a temp gun, fire it at the base of the heatsink while you're stress testing, and if you get something in the ballpark of what it reads, then it's probably close enough.

If you don't have a heat gun, you can ensure that you're getting an accurate temp by leaving your computer idle for a fair bit, recording the temp, and then restarting and going into the bios to check the temp there. If they're the same or close, then you're probably getting an accurate software reading.

I'm getting 5 ghz out of my 6700k at 1.36v.

During an 8 hour stress test, it got to 81, max but typically stayed around 77. Idles at about 30C under gaming load at 60. I've got an H100.

This exites me xD as I plan to get a 6700k towards the end of this year for my new pc...

Have you tried other software like OCCT?

I just kept going up on the OC. Until voltage didn't work. Then up on it.

I started at 4.5 on stock. Just bumped voltages up in .250 amounts until I got to 5. I could do 5.1 or 5.2 if I had better cooling. My H100 doesn't like 87C. It managed 5.2 at 1.39 but the temps were too high for my liking.

I've been thinking about just going custom water cooling. Although if I did I'd have to build another PC to not carry around a custom water loop pc.

My friends 6700k can't even get to 4.8. His didn't come with a low 1.20 voltage like mine. His was at 1.3 out of the box.

He's thinking about sending it back and getting another to see if he can get a better OC'er. I just got lucky.

I wasn't going to OC it until I saw I had the right CPU for it. My low voltage stock helped.
