Posted June 25, 2016 So, in my signature you will most likely find a "PC Part Picker" link that leads to my current build. Mind you, it is not 100% correct because some parts I could not for the life of me find on the site. The most crucial one would be that my case is the Fractal Design Define R2 (not XL), which is a discontinued product. Mind you, I like the case, and I haven't had the PC for even half a year yet, so a change is not needed. However, in the distant future (say a couple of years, when I may have moved in with someone), I might decide to change the case to something more universal. That's when I started considering the CaseLabs Merlin SM8. It works with my current motherboard form factor ATX, and it is considered to be very moddable. However, the processing time is considerably long (they currently state 6-7 weeks unless they have a Quick-Ship ready, though those have a few quirks I am not entirely fond of), and with my custom configuration I ended up at 496.95$, plus shipping and tax. So a thought struck me that I might be just as well off with choosing a different brand to lower costs, though it may result in less customizability. I don't know, that is more for future me to deal with. Now, what do you guys think? I know I so far have only talked about the case and there is a forum page for that sort of discussion, but 1) it's a sort of planning phase for me, and 2) I did have in mind talking about other components to put in the case, but wanted to try and get a somewhat smoother intro to the discussion. Posted June 25, 2016 It's really hard to tell, in a few years there may be a lot of new great cases, so thinking about it now doesn't seem like the best idea. I am well aware of that, but assuming nothing happens in that time.
