I need your recommendations.

I am looking for a PSU

  • will need around 500-600W
  • White would be a nice addtion but totally not necessary
  • I'd prefer a fully modular one.
  • I would say 80+ Silver up to Platinum (somewhat price-performance efficient)
  • Of a decent company
  • And maybe also some white cable recommendations :D

Thanks a lot :)

What are your system specs and your budget?

I'm gonna be using:

  • Skylake 6700k
  • Asus Z170 A motherboard
  • Samsung 850 EVO SSD
  • 2 140mm Fans, 2 120mm Fans
  • An Enermax CPU air cooler
  • GTX 1080 or 1070 (not decided yet)
  • 16 GB DDR 4 RAM (2x 8GB)
  • More or less Standard Mouse & Keyboard
  • Maybe some USB devices but no very power demanding ones.

And my budget would be around 120$ I'd say. Not complaining if it will only be 80$ since I do not really see the need in buying very expensive PSUs

PS:  I just read your PSU 80+ Gold and what it means post. Very helpfull! Thanks a lot :D

Well still we need to know your budget, but https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qYTrxr/evga-power-supply-220g20550y1

550W EVGA G2 is top quality, but I do not know what you are willing to pay as it's 81 without rebate, or 70 with a 10 dollar rebate but their might be deals on other models more frugal for a budget, if it's too expensive just say so, it's just the go to in terms of quality.

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/ Tier Breakdown (My understanding)--1 Godly, 2 Great, 3 Good, 4 Average, 5 Meh, 6 Bad, 7 Awful

Ah, well your budget easily fits the Corsair RMi 650W which has lots of custom cable kits from places like Cablemod, Icemodz, etc and is super quiet and has a nice flat 24-pin. The EVGA G2 is also a good option, 550W being enough as well but 650W allows for slightly more quiet operation.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
