(Edit: posted here as most of these older CPU's would generally be in pre-built systems)

Hey, I had previously experienced using a Q6600 Intel based PC once. I bought it for 225 as I need something. It was the best 2nd hand computer I had bought. I later received (as a replacement for a faulty PC) a Dell Precision which also had an i3 of sorts.

What would you guys recommend paying for a PC with a CPU you'd recommend?
I'll soon be in the market for an older yet cheaper PC with a CPU that can keep up. My current PC is listed and 1 person is interested so far, I may get 575$ for it  (I keep the PSU 750w and R9 380X).

I need to get an idea of what other CPU's are out there that I can try looking for, and what prices I should expect them to be.

Also whats your favorite? I'm pretty lenient on the Q6600, would love to try the Q9000 series lol

Right now trying to figure out what my best choices are for motherboards

Outside of the older desktop CPU's i been eyeballing Server cpu's on Ebay. As was foundout in my other post (Dual CPU gaming), they just might offer more performance for the cost than a 50$ hand-me-down on Kijiji/craigslist.

Are there any pre-builts like Dell Demension, Precision, or otherwise that would be worth checking into that might provide suitable motherboards for the above mentioned?

Sidenote, I'd be using Kijiji to check for prebuilts, and people want like 100-250$ for anything dual-core. and 350+ for i3, i5 and higher

dual-cores aren't worth and any i3 before Haswell is also not worth an investment
