What should i get?

I am currently on a system with a msi r9 280x and fx 8350 an my question is wether it is worth to upgrade the graphic card to something like a gtx 970 or r9 390(x). If it is worth it, should i get a new processor and mobo?

New CPU.

I'd go with an i5-6400/6500 + 16GB or 8GB of RAM + new Mobo

Wait for the RX 480 that comes out in 6 days. It's cheaper than both those cards and should perform way better.

since we share the same card OP, wait for the 480. from the leaks so far it'll be a very nice upgrade if you stay AMD

Not at that price. Wait a week for the 480.

OC your FX 8350 to 4.6 or so and you will be fine.
