ACPI module initialization at POST

Motherboard is a Asus P9X79 WS/IPMI. It is some odd model, as there is no information on the ASUS website. Pretty much a P9X79 WS and IPMI added there. The CPU is a Intel Xeon E5-2670.

 

I have been trying to get the system to POST, but I am stuck at code 78 which is ACPI module initialization. I tried to reseat the CPU, checked socket (no bent pins). Tried with my 980Ti Classified and without, no difference. Tried 2 different power supplies, no difference. I do not have other motherboard or CPU to test with, at least not at this moment. I can not find any other BIOS for this motherboard either to do a flashback. CMOS reset has been done as well. I am unable to access the IPMI interface as well, no access to BIOS to set it up.

 

Anything else I could try before I will return it?

Have you tried it with a different power supply?

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Yes, same issue.

Are the 20 pin motherboard power connector and both 4 pin cpu power connectors fully seated?

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

24pin ATX motherboard connector yes, 8pin CPU yes.

Could be a bad CPU. You can try returning the mobo and see if that fixes it. If not, try another CPU (because everyone has a few extra lying around, right?).

Sadly, LGA2011 CPUs are hard to find these days... I could try getting a cheap one from ebay.

Reset bios - cmos switch eg remove cmos battery wait 10mins, put it back. Try again.
