Hey forum,

I have been unable to access anything on my external hard drive. When it is plugged in, it is shown in explorer, but any attempts to access the drive or right click causes explore to crash. Disk management will also not load if the drive is plugged in. Is there a way that I can format this drive without using the OS? Like through the bios or something. Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried it plugged into any other computers?  My suggestion would be to try booting a Ubuntu live USB and taking a look at it then.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

The drive was recognized and accessible for a short time, but then stopped. I am currently trying to format it, but I'm not sure if it is working.
