I just really like the Phantek case :) but other than that any suggestions on tweaks to bring price down or improve performance are greatly appreciated. Mainly for gaming, maybe audio recording (but that's not terribly demanding). Not sure if I'm going to go with this video card as the new ones are coming very soon so I may go with something else but this is what I have as a placeholder for now.

Thanks :)

Any reason you're not going with Skylake?

Also I've never heard of Club3D so probably get a card from a different brand.

i like linux

No reason in particular. It's just from a  build I found.

The Club3D are supposed to be good, but I'll probably get one of the new cards that are starting to be released now

Do you want to spend more for little to no performance improvement?

Actually, this is only $10 more and has Crossfire support:  http://pcpartpicker.com/product/8RTrxr/asrock-motherboard-h170ax1

oops, USD...1 sec... There all over $100 CDN.  It would cut into the GPU money if you want to keep it under $1000.

I don't mind going a little over $1000. I'll look at both. Thanks for the info :)

Here is the list, remember:  Mail in rebates do not make a product cheaper.  Always include the MIR in the price.

ATX motherboard, Crossfire support.  Although the 520W PSU I had earlier should run two RX 480s, it would be cutting it too close for my taste:

$820

Why not get the Enthoo Pro M? I have the Enthoo Pro and it is awesome, but it's pretty large and a micro ATX motherboard looks so tiny in it. The Enthoo Pro M is really nice, though you should add a 140mm front intake fan to it.

Again much appreciated. I'll start ordering parts this week.

The Pro has a 200mm in the front and a 140mm in the rear.  You can easily get by with that for the initial build.  Add more fans later if you want.

The Pro M only comes with a 140mm in the rear, so grabbing a pair of 140mm to introduced fresh air is advisable.
