Is my GPU dying?

rpalmz46

So I have a SAPPHIRE AMD R9 270x had it for about 2.5 years and played it a shit ton. Lately I've been noticing the display drivers crash once in a while despite how many clean installs I do of it and the drivers and I've been noticing some mild to hardcore stuttering when playing games like ESO and it is really starting to annoy me I plan on buying myself a new 1070 anyway but the version I want isn't out for a bit. What do you guys think is my GPU dying if not what could be the cause of this.

My Specs:

CPU: i5-4690k

CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO

GPU: R9 270x 2GB

Ram: 24GB

HDD: 1TB

PSU: Corsair CS650M

Motherboard: Msi z97 Pc Mate

I have my cpu overclocked also and I've been experiencing some blue screens as of late as well. Havn't tried un overclocking it yet but that's next if I can't figure it out.

Try the CPU at stock first, best to rule out all possible faults

Could this be causing stuttering in a game like eso?

Overclocked CPU? OR incorrectly overclocked cpu

Anything is possible.  Just set it back to stock to be sure.

Probably isn't the cause of the stuttering, but could be the reason for your BSOD, at the current moment you don't know if its the GPU or CPU, rule out one of them and then see

Alright it is overclocked my 4690k to 4.2ghz at 1.25v so i dont know i either think its that or the ram since i just added 12gb of ram to my pc recently and I only did it after i got my new cpu and mobo installed. Never knew if it was even stable in my old system either. For memtest do i have to put it onto a flash drive and run it?
