So as a kid I would build computers from old parts my uncle would bring home from work (hazwaste company) from colleges who were getting rid of old computers in like 99'-02' times. Now I have my Asus K53 laptop, and a iMac 5k retina, but I want a real sleek looking pc to build as my first full buy and build pc. I'm having a hard time deciding on what I should put into it. I've watched pretty much everything on the Linustechtips channel, and I still can't decide on the CPU/MOBO Combo. I don't really plan on playing super graphic intense games, but I want to be able to, if I want to. I mostly just play WoW... ya that's pretty much it. I'm mostly going for build for fun, and make it as BA with a decent budget. I figure since I spent about 2k on my iMac I should do the same for a PC, and see what I come out with. My biggest issue is wether I should go LGA1511 6700k like pretty much everyone I see, or 2011-v3 6800k to be on the new chipset and hope this chipset stays a few generations. I'm sure the info on the next chipset it out there, but I'm not that tech savvy. I haven't been into computer for the past 5-6 years, so you can see I'm trying to play catch up, and I kinda want to go straight to the top, and work from there. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/6kCP6X is what I have come up with, and of course EK Liquid cooling system for both the 1080/CPU. I hope to do some cool stuff with hardline loop kinda like Jay did on Skunkworks with a black/what ever color I want that day LED Lighting. I picked the MSI Pro Carbon mostly because I know nothing worth while about MOBOs, so I searched best 2016 X99 MOBO, and that one was a PC MAG Editor Choice. It looks good matches the black theme with the RGB, so if there's something wrong with it lemme know. Then I picked the 6800k not knowing if it's better to go 5820K? Not sure. RAM I see Ripjaw or Corsair a ton, so I'm not really sure whats best bang for the buck. The SSD I don't need a ton of space I have a NAS, so its mostly just to hold few games/programs. 1080 founder edition for the EK block. The Case I really wanted to copy Jay again with the NZXT H440, but I guess the X99 ATX doesn't fit? At least thats what PCpartpicker told me, and I think that open style Thermaltake case is pretty awesome. I know...... DUST! That's ok this will be my baby.. 1000w PSU WHY NOT?

So anyway if you made it through all that lemme know what you think. I plan on doing RGB fans with the EK P360, hard line, 1080 block not to worried about the cooling system I think I got that all figured out. I want this computer to light up my living room. LOL!

The Motherboard does fit, you just need to choose a CPU cooler. (which you seem to have figured out)

Get the 6800k

Corsair for RAM

A PC of this caliber is not needed for WoW, but hey, if you have the mullah, go for it :)

I picked the Founders Edition mostly because there's not a liquid cooling block for the new cards. Also, from what I have been seeing is liquid cooled FE 1080s aren't bad on OC because they don't have the thermal throttle issues that come with stock cooler. As I write that I see you see where I'm coming from.

The 1000w PSU I may change to save money, and buy those RGB fans, but I like the idea of my PSU being able to handle anything I decide to throw at it likeSLI..

I can't decide on the cases now. I wanted the H440 for the basement to hide the rad, but now I thinking if I get RGB fans it would look pretty cool sitting in that case.
