What do you play?

FPS, e.g. CSGO, then get a High refresh rate

Otherwise its just a case of getting the best resolution. Potentially a G-Sync monitor may be worth it if you want to have a smoother playing experience.

Well, I wouldn't know about gaming but I do know a monitor that could totally fill your needs. I have and recommend, a hp 25es. This monitor is HD and has all the ports you want except for DVI. Since this is HD and a 35 inch monitor, I assume it will be good for gaming.

35 inch is TV sized, I am assuming its actually a 25 inch? Anyways its still a standard 1080p panel so there will not be much difference between the monitor they already have.
