I've been playing BF4 for a few hours now and for some reason this stupid window keeps alt tabbing me out of my game and it wants me to download a JavaScript file called preload.js from a source called 'tag.imonomy.com'. I did some research and all I found was that Imonomy is some ad shit in Israel. I stopped it from installing like twice now, and now I'm running Windows Defender with a full scan to see if it finds some shit. I doubt it's BF4 causing it, in fact I think it's something else (perhaps a certain game I, uh, 'downloaded' earlier). Any ideas on what the hell this crap is and what I can do to stop it?

What? How do you install a JavaScript file lol

Well my PC is asking me to run it, and it's not installed locally as some website is trying to make me run it. Obviously I'm not letting it. I've ran ADWCleaner to check for adware and it didn't find anything, I'm about to run MalwareBytes to see if it finds something, and Windows Defender is still scanning but it already found 'potential threats' but I have to wait for it to finish scanning to see what those threats are.

JavaScript is a piece of code that can run in your browser (let's keep it simple and ignore node.js) and it's designed so it can't do a lot of harm to your computer.

The window you're showing is asking you to download it. Not sure why or where it's coming from, but simply downloading a .js file is as harmless as downloading a plain text file. It's most likely a spam ad page (or something like that) with crappy code that incorrectly loads the script and in turn, it asks you to save it, instead of it being loaded inside the browser.

Well I don't want it to keep asking me to save it, crappy ad or not. I read on one page that it could be uTorrent, but I know how to disable the ads in there so I'll try that. I'm also running all of my ad-mal-spy-mare stuff to see if it has to do with that.

Edit: Well okay, Windows Defender found some random garbage that allows remote access, so I assume that's what was causing it. I'm still going to run MalwareBytes and remove the ads in uTorrent, hopefully this shit doesn't happen anymore because it's annoying af.

Hi, Can you please upload the js file(or its first few lines) or its full url(not only the domain it is coming from)? I think I will be able to help...

Haven't gotten any more requests for it to download so I can't, sorry. If it pops up again I'll save it and post it's contents in here.
