Virtualising NAS on Linux

Hi,

I am currently planning on visualizing a remotely accessible NAS on my server that is running Lubuntu so I can backup my families computers onto it. I have previously ran FreeNAS on a PC but this time I want to run it alongside Lubuntu. Can anyone point me in the right direction to this or if it is even possible. Any help is appreciated.

I think the easiest solution for you might be to install Lubuntu and install VirtualBox and then install what ever os you want for your nas. You can go nuts with the software you use and install a hypervisor from vmware or some other company but for a beginner its a better idea to start with a simple install of VirtualBox.

You could install ESXi on your server and create how many VMs you need.
