Well...I think I just went full retard.

I'm currently replacing the thermal paste of my MSI R9 390 to (hopefully) reduce the temps of the card. (90C° + )

The thermal paste was all over the chip when I removed the cooler.

So I cleaned up the middle and now I'm stuck with the paste in between the tiny parts.

  1. I cannot get rid of the stuff. (Using alcohol wipes and cotton swabs)
  2. There's tiny hair from the wipes and all that stuff within the paste. (gg ez) Don't think it's a good idea to just ignore those.

Hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance.

(Sorry for the low image quality; my phone camera is pretty bad)

the thermal paste being where it is isnt a problem, you just dont want it to go outside that silver square. I would dry using the alcohol and some coffee filters to get the rest of it out.

It's fine. As long as it's non conductive you're okay. You can use 91+% iso alcohol to clean off the transistors. Just be delicate because well... they're delicate little things. I suggest coffee filters to clean with.

I would remove the pubic hair, just in case someone else would notice. (if you have a steady hand, just try to take it out...)

*Edit: according to this video, it should not really be an issue. It's just better not to do a thing like this on purpose.
