HI, I have been running a Plex server off of my laptop, and it was working very well, but my laptop's HDD has broken and it is due to be repaired. Until then, I would like a temporary solution for my plex server, and I already have an orignial Raspberry Pi so was wondering whether or not that could run the server. Cheers

There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

It can run the server in theory, but from my experience I can tell you you'll probably have a bad time - running the server well requires a bit more power than a 1st gen raspi can provide.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

The problem isnt simply that the Pi 1 is lacking in performance, plex server is not supported on armv7.  It cannot run plex server.

Yes, it can run Plex. There ARE arm Plex distributions. However, one of the strongest features of Plex server stuff is the ability to transcode  media on the fly so you get the best experience. Similar to how YouTube automatically changes quality based on internet speed. The Pi simply cannot handle that. Even with those features disabled, your video will have stutters. If you just want it for media sorting and progress tracking on how much you've watched, there are far more lightweight solutions outside of Plex

I am good at computer

Really? I didn't know that. I thought I saw it running on a pi 2 but I must have gotten confused.
