the install was on the MBR or GBP partition table?

any SSD/HDD RAIDS?

under the MSCONFIG>Boot>advanced options, how many cores are used for boot?

I have windows 10 on it and a samsung 850 pro and no raid just the ssd

I did not know I could set the number of processors. If it is unticked, does it only use 1, or does it use the max>

tick the 'number of cores' box and change to 4 cores.

have you installed the chipset drivers, intel engine management and the ASmedia SATA controller drivers (enabled, if not using it, disable)?

if not using the WiFi/BT, disable those in the UEFI.

verify the SSD is plugged into the non-SATA Express ports (should be ports SATA6G_1,_2,_3,_4, _7,_8,_9,_10)

Really? Now I am getting all giddy with the possible improvement. Is it the same story with the RAM?

depends on what the UEFI has designated the speed to be.. default DDR3 is 1333/1600, DDR4 is 2133. that'd be an unneeded dialog box to tweek.

sorry to bother you but will 6 make it faster?

no
