I would say 6350. Sure the Intel's would be a bit faster, but in regular use the difference would be undetectable.

To help put things in some perspective here's a link to the Tom's Hardware Gaming CPU Hierarchy Chart http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html

I'd say AMD athlon 750k if you"re on a real tight budget or the fx 63xx if you can spend a bit more. I used to have the fx 6300 and it easily overclocked to 4.5Ghz. While the 750k is a great value at $80.

edit for 750k link - http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Devices-AD750KWOHJBOX-Graphics-Processor/dp/B009O412AU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1380562203&sr=8-2&keywords=fm2+cpu

Corsair 250d - - Delidded i7 4770k @ 4.4GHz (1.15v) - - Asus Maximus VI Impact - - Corsair h100i

Asus DirectCU II OC GTX780 - - NZXT x41 & G10 w/ Push/Pull Noctua IndustrialPPC's - - Corsair ax760i

16GB Corsair Vengeance 2133Mhz  - - Samsung 840 pro (boot) - - Samsung Evo (gaming) - - WD green HDD (data)

Im not after anything super budget but i am trying to keep costs low as i have barely any cash spare. I have about 200 usd at the most to spend on a cpu which is about 250 nzd. I would like to spend less than that as i dont want to cheap out on the motherboard but it looks like i might have to get the cheapest board out

i7 4790k | Asus Z97 M-Plus | 16GB Mushkin 1600mhz | Sapphire R9 390X | Samsung 830 128GB SSD | 1TB WD Blue | Corsair HX750i | Corsair Carbide 330r Blackout Edition

I would go with the FX 6300 and the MSI 970A-G43.

If i were to go fx i would go something like this https://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=18572 as anythi9ng more expensive would make this build not viable
