Can't access Windows Store in Win 8

I wanted to make use of Windows 8's start screen as I have always used Windows 8 with Classic Start (which I love and don't plan on changing anytime soon). I wanted to use the start screen and download this app http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-gb/app/steam-tile/f17f134c-c72d-470b-9d97-9c9d6d4aae85 however when I enter the store, I get this error: http://gyazo.com/67bf46bea9a32a86b1afb625bc0251b4 I click 'Try again' and am able to get into the store, but I can't sign in, nor can I download any apps (http://gyazo.com/13be161da39d93b1b0774afad8207843)

 

Anyone able to help out (I have tried the main troubleshooting steps found online, none have worked so far)
