Hi Everyone,

I'm planning to build my first PC, well uhm, technically, its not my first, but this is the first time that I'll be assembling it myself. I chose the parts on my previous PC's, but they were all assembled by the PC shops. Anyway, here are the specs of my future build:

Processor: i5 3570K or i7 3770K (can't decide which one)

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

Mobo: MSI Z77A GD65

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance (blue heat spreader)

VGA: MSI Geforce GTX 660Ti Power Edition

HD: 1TB Western Digital Black

Case: Cooler Master HAF XM or Corsair Vengeance C70 (still torn between these two awesome cases)

PSU: Seasonic X-760

Monitor: any 1080p monitor

I already have the GTX 660Ti Power Edition and the Seasonic X-760 powering up my current ancient build of AMD Phenom X4 9550 (kinda old, but still holding up :D). Still saving up more money to build my next PC. I'm also planning to throw in a Xonar Essence STX and an SSD in the future, but SSD's aren't cheap here in the Philippines (they cost double the price in Canada or USA). What are your thoughts guys? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Processor: Do you intend to do rendering, graphical work, video editing, etc? If not, the 3570K will suffice.

CPU Cooler: Very nice man. Would like to own personally :P

Mobo: Unless you are overclocking crazy, this board is definitely sufficient. Make sure the blue-black matches your case though :P

RAM: More than enough; you may want to skimp down to 8GB to save money to buy a solid-state drive. Otherwise, 16GB will give you enough for a RAM Disk until you do.

GPU: That GPU is quite good, and will not bottleneck any other components.

HDD: That HDD is generally very reliable and quite fast.

Case: I would go with the HAF XM, as the window is small enough not to display your innards if you pick mismatching colours :P

PSU: Very nice PSU. Since you already have it, you're in a very good place :)

Monitor: I wouldn't be too dismissive with this one, I'll give you some hints in the next post :)

Perhaps you could get your SSD shipped from NCIX? They don't have a shipping estimate, but you may find it cheaper overall for you to buy from NCIX once you check out.

Go for the SSD before the sound card, but it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

Please tell me your budget on a monitor so I can recommend one? :)

Thanks man! I really appreciate your input. :)

About the SSD, its sad to say but I think if I buy from NCIX and have it shipped here in the Philippines, it would cost more because of taxes our corrupt customs slap on shipped items. But I do have a friend in Canada that may come home in a month or two so maybe I can just have it shipped to him. :)

About the monitor, I still haven't decided yet how much I'll spend on it, but most 1080p monitors here in the Philippines costs at around Php 10,000.00 or more (around less than $250.00). I found a cheaper one made by LG (IPS234V) at around Php 7,500.00 (or around $180). I'm just not sure how good it is.

Well, for that price, I happily recommend my own monitors (I have three). They are Acer S221HQL monitors; 22" with 1080p and 5ms response.

If you're looking for something a little better (mine are only about $120) the LG monitor you mentioned will have much superior quality since it's an IPS panel.

An IPS panel at $180 is very decent and I give you props for finding it at that price! They're usually more like $230-240.
