ready cache??

Hey  there yugan :)

This is basically a caching method which speeds up the most used computer processes by storing their files on a SSD for faster loading while keeping everything else on a HDD. This is pretty much what a Hybrid SSHD drive does, but keeping the SSD, the HDD and the software separate from each other instead in one enclosure (like a SSHD). :)

It does work well in systems that are mainly used for just a few purposes as the software alone decides what is used more frequently and is stored on the SSD. Everything else works at regular HDD speeds. :)

Gaming doesn't really rely on the storage's performance for anything else but the loading times and may not be the most frequently used thing in your computer so you are not likely at all to see any changes in FPS or graphics :)

Feel free to ask if there's anything else!

I had one, but I upgraded to an SSD pretty quickly. I then formatted the ready cache drive to work like a regular SSD and use it as a boot drive in my second system.

It definitely helps but at a greater risk of software related boot issues and since the price of a full SSD is so low you may as well just get an SSD. These cache drives were only really worth it when SSDs were really expensive still ($100+) but the cache drives were only ~$30.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

I agree with the part that this adds more risk for the data as it is another point of potential failure.
On the other hand, it is a good and inexpensive way to boost your system's performance if you are using HDDs and need faster performance from the most frequently-used applications. :) I guess it really depends on the type of usage and budget.
