Hope I got this in the right sub forum :)

I found a few old microsoft mice in some storage a while back, I am quite fond of these and one of them I remember liking quite alot.

I was hoping that someone might be able to point me towards or write up some advise to remove the guts of the older mouse and put in a newer PCB with a laser tracker, buttons ect. As I said I am quite fond of these, The shape and feel is really nice along with the clicks being very satisfying.

In summery, What I want to do is take out the ball and put in an optical sensor along with the macro buttons of the 'newer' mouse. I want to keep the scroll and 'click' buttons if possible.

The older mouse I am talking about is identical to this, Except mine has a scroll wheel.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Can not find anything about that online.

found this mice tare down guide : http://hackaday.com/2008/05/16/how-to-scavenge-a-mouse-for-parts/

But my suggestion would be find a mice that's smaller then the mice you are playing to re-use and take out the PCB and do some custom work. start small and work with something like this I think: https://www.amazon.com/Generic-3-Button-Optical-Notebook-Desktop/dp/B006B3PADC/ref=pd_bxgy_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=N9119HRC350B9CVBJMDT

My new Gaming PC.
