Ok guys,

So in overwatch I am able to set my resolution to 5960x1080 *144 for my rig, but when I actually play the game it will only display at 1920x1080 on my middle monitor and leave the other two monitors "active" but black basically bordering it. While the game runs over 200 fps on ultra, I'd much rather hit around 100 fps with all three monitors running. I read somewhere that this is due to a FOV issue that was addressed during the beta, but UWSGF posted that this game is confirmed working on a triple monitor gaming rig. . . So the FoV issue is stated that they locked the FoV in order to not give players an advantage who are using an ultra wide / surround setup. . . Which the purpose of having it is to make an advantage that anyone can obtain? Just like having lower latency is an advantage, playing at 144 hz is an advantage, using mechanical speed switches is an advantage, and of course having a "sniper" button on a mouse is an advantage... so why hinder it, when in WoW you allowed FULL surround support ? Anyone figured out a work around?

As it is a blizzard game it will be very hard to get a work around. They verify game files before launching so any changes will either be fixed or the game will not launch. There is a large post on the over watch forums regarding 21:9 and id say when that gets added if ever so will multi monitor support. FYI they never released a 21:9 profile for diablo 3 and to this day haven't so don't expect one

They may do something about 21:9 but I doubt multi monitors. Plenty of people have 21:9 now, which has taken over a bit of the multi monitor market and the forum thread is well over 10 pages long now

it works perfect on one of my monitors however only problem is I ALWAYS play windowed since I have 3 monitors and it won't let me stretch out the entire game to fill up the whole monitor so it only fits about 80% of the monitor which is a shame but at least it goes to the max res. I think d3 and SC2 max out at 1080. I can see sc doing that because having 3 monitors would give a huge advantage.

right. Sad day for those of us who run triple and UWS. Was really looking forward to it as DOOM even supports triple monitor (albeit with weird skewing on some of the details that make it less enjoyable). Going to be a wait and see and don't expect a change.

Interestingly enough, Even though 21:9 was not supported, it ran on my UWS without black bars at the quoted resolution of 2560x1080, but again the FOV made it skewed.

id say your monitor is stretching the 1080p image to "fit" the monitor. It does that for mine. If you go into the monitor settings you can make it display the 1080 image with no stretching.

yeah, I assume that as well since the ratio is locked to 16:9 / 16:10

21:9 isn't supported in a lot of competitive games. It would give you an advantage over people using standard 16:9 monitors. I think this will change as UWS becomes more popular but I wouldn't expect that to happen in the lifetime of Overwatch.
