Stores like free Geek

Hello, I'm looking for a store that is designed like free geek, where you can work on computers get community service and even take one home every once in a while, Located in NYC or close to NYC. I looked the closest one to me is around 3 hours.  And i was planning on applying for an internship. The reason i asked on this forums is Linus did a video on Free Geek and it really got me interested, and as a high school student, i was looking for an internship and free geek really sparked my interest.
