I'm looking for a GPU for my new build for about $250 CAD. So far the R9 380 4gb looks the best. But I have some questions.

For 1080p 60fps gaming on the newest AAA games, is 4gb VRAM worth getting rather then 2gb? And could you quickly explain it to me?

The other 4gb card in the price range was the gtx 960. Should I get it rather than 380?

I know amd is dropping new GPUs soon too. I would wait to see what they release, and if they dropped a card in my budget range I would probably get it but if they were more expensive do you think cards like the r9 380x or something else would drop price and I could get one of those?

thanks!

Wait for Polaris.  Personally I would take the 380 over the 960.  Hell, I picked a R9 280 over a 960 about 12 months ago.  Got my 280 for $220 new.

Yes, 4GB of VRAM is better.  Newer games, better textures, much VRAM.
