So I got a deal on a sealed 690 for 200$. How is the performance holding up this year? Is it worth it?

Decent but i'd stay away from it as SLI really inst a great option, especially as the nerfed 680's wont be much good individually. 

Get a used 970 or 980 once the new cards come out.

If the games you play have great sli support then yeah get it but if not you should get an used 290 since a 290 is in the same used price bracket.
