Hey there,

I recently changed the motherboard in my system to Intel DG965RY from DG33BU.

Now I experience significant shutter in my games or even in windows. I checked CoreTemp, and noticed that the CPU was down clocked to 1.6Ghz. My processor is an Intel Q6600 2.4Ghz. Temps are ok, 50-60 idle, 70-75 under load. Also checked in BIOS, processor speed is listed as 1.6Ghz. I tried resetting CMOS, turning off Enhanced Intel SpeedStep but no luck. Is something wrong with this board or something else is wrong? The reason I changed this mb was because of my GPU (R7 360) which didnt work in the previous one.

Thanks.

It's simple really : That MB doesn't support Quad Core's.
Here's compatibility list : LINK.

MB : Gigabyte X99 SOC (BIOS F23c)
RAM : 4x Patriot Viper Steel 4000MHz CL16 @ 3042MHz CL12.12.12.24 CR2T @1.48V.
GPU : Titan Xp Collector's Edition (Empire)
M.2/HDD : Samsung SM961 256GB (NVMe/OS) + + 3x HGST Ultrastar 7K6000 6TB
DAC : Motu M4 + Audio Technica ATH-A900Z
PSU: Seasonic X-760 || CASE : Fractal Meshify 2 XL || OS : Win 10 Pro x64

If the motherboard doesn't support the quad-core, it may not set the proper parameters for it. You could check and see if there's a BIOS update for it, or you could try to manually set the clock speed in the BIOS.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.
