low profile GPU in a dell R710

I own a dell r710 and i wanted to put a low profile gpu in there for a gui and other fun stuff but i want to know if it would work out for my server and what i have to do to make it work. i have the pcie 8x dell riser cards in there but i have an 8x to 16x pcie adapter for them so i can put a gpu in there i just own one but i want to make sure it works first before i go blowing money

have you looked into a pci-e 8x video card? I'm pretty sure you can get them for not a whole lot more than a normal 16x gpu.
