Hey LTT community!

I'm having this weird issue where my system has to power cycle once before proceeding with full boot.

Started happening after a few attempts at high BCLK overclocking.

Sequence of event:

System would turn on then off within a second

System restarts itself as what usually happens when overclock fails

System proceeds to post as per usual

Troubleshooting done so far:

Back to default fresh bios to same results

Reduced BCLK same results

Notable point:

This only happens on first boot from turning on the power socket

Shutting down and then booting does not trigger power cycle

Summary below:

PSU: Corsair HX750i

Q-Codes:

At normal timescale/speed

Slowed down

Appreciate any insight into what's happening!

Ping me if more information is needed!

This is common with an Asus board.

Mines been doing it for 6+ years with no problem.

If I use default stock clocks (meaning I don't manually use auto settings, instead allow the bios to use auto) then this does not happen.

If I then overclock past 4.5-4.6Ghz then I get the power cycle. 4.9 - 5.1Ghz and the power cycle becomes a lot more apparent but is manageable,

I'm not sure what causes it but like I said I've had no problems for 6+ years.

It's not a race to the bottom.
