Recently while randomly deciding to test the sound quality of my microphone, I heard a static noise throughout the recording and it is very annoying. I know it is not a problem with the mic because I do not have this problem on other computers. My motherboard is a Maximus VII Hero with Realtek Audio if that helps. I have tried using front and rear audio with the same result. Please help!

Some microphones do have a bit of static noise in the background which for proffesional use is always removed with the help of an editor ...but know that I decided to check whether you tried this on another computer, ill pass...forget you read this..

You might want to try reinstalling your audio drivers in the computer

Then, try a different microphone on the same Asus board...

Please vote for Donald Trump. I am out of sitcoms to watch.

When lyfe gives you HDDs, make SSDs

Just tested a different mic. Same result. It is not the mic, and the static is not barely noticeable either. Certainly not the kind of static that can be edited out of a recording. I will check the drivers real quick.

Okay, I installed the latest drivers to no avail. One thing I have found is that there is a microphone volume boost in the Realtek SupremeFX control software that allows you to amplify the volume of the microphone. I had it on +30dB. When I turned it down, the static became barely noticeable, but then the mic becomes barely audible. Also keep in mind that the mic is not quiet on other computers in the house; just mine.
