Cheap 1440p

I'm planning on getting a 144hz 1440p monitor in september. Will those monitors drop below $350 CAD ($270 USD) by september?

This monitor ( http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-mg278q ) is almost 350 USD. That's the closest on www.pcpartpicker.com

 

In my opinion? No, it will not drop below 270 USD by September. The GTX 1080 release will possible increase sales and monitor manufactures will keep their price steady if they're smart.

Based on current prices, you are expecting about 40% price drop. Unless something much better comes to market in this time, which is unlikely. So unless you get it on a sale or buy used, it's probably not happening.

Can't you earn the money by then? You have more than 3 months before then or 109 days to be exact. That's about $5 CAD per day on average (based on price of Acer XG270HU and the Asus MG278Q also gets close). That's less than half of minimum wage in Canada. So working even at minimum wage, it would take about 54 hours, which is a bit more than a week's worth of work. I don't see the problem, it's legal to work even at 16yo (or less, depending on province), unless you're younger. 

 

Note: As you might see from my profile description, I'm not from Canada, so I'm basing all my information from googling this stuff, therefore some details might be inaccurate.
