USB Capture Card through LAN

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

the issue is those devices need the specific drivers for the capture card. not everything thats plug&play on your pc is plug&play on everything else.

the closest to this you'll come is something like a raspberry pi (or preferably something x86 with at least semi-decent encoding performance) and send it in a high bitrate stream to the receiving system that does further processing.

Hi.

I am aware that there are USB hubs that can be attached to a Network to share drives, flash drives, etc.. But could an Elgato be plugged into one of these to record game play downstairs to my computer upstairs, over the network? If so could someone post a link to a hub that will do this.

Closest thing you are getting to a "network usb hub" is a raspberry pi with a usb hub.

And some clever setup

There is this though..... https://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Port-Networking-USB-Print/dp/B00JDH68JS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1463236959&sr=8-4&keywords=network+usb+hub
