My card the evga 770 sc acx will not boost to its boost clock the full time I play a game. I start a game up for an example bf3 and the gpu boosts to its 1163mhz for about 45 seconds then it returns to its base clock which is 1111mhz and stays there. Can someone plz tell me why it wont stay at the boost clock like it is supposed to do.  My temps are very good around 45-50 celcius

Do you have Vsync on? If not what are your frames?

No i dont use vsync. When I first start playing my frames are at its highest it will ever be which is 1163mhz.....Like i said.....then the frames drop about 25fps average and then as soon as i see that i alt tab look at precision x and see that.. hey the gpu just clocked down to its original speed and not boosting anymore....does this make sense

What you have to do is piss on it and then put a puck on top.

25 FPS? I don't think that's only an issue with your card, a 50mhz clock drop won't drop you 25 frames. You have some other issue in your system. Are you using a fresh install of windows, is this a new card, a new system, what is your most recent hardware or software change, are your drivers the most recent? (If so do a rollback.)

Its most likely heat issues.

The 7xx series Nvidia cards perform specifically based on how hot they are.

Perhaps it gets too hot and then downclocks.

Try manually ramping your fans up to 100% and then play, see if anything changes.
