Hey planning to build a gaming pc with the following core specs;

1. Processor 6600K

2 Mobo: Cant decide between Gaming 5 or 7

3.Ram: 16GB

4. GPU: Nvidia 970

5. HDD: 2TB

What i am not sure about is what cooling will be required for overclocking safely and the PSU wattage.

Depends on how far you are planning to overclock it. id get a 120mm or 240mm AIO Liquid cooler or a single or dual tower heatsink for air cooling.

get a powersupply with 600-750w and 80+ bronze or gold

i also saw that there isnt an ssd on your spec list. you could maybe cut down the hdd to 1tb and get like a 128gb or 256gb ssd way faster :)

System won't draw more than 350W under full load. You'd be fine with a 500W PSU. I recommend the EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2.

That said, I'd wait for NVIDIA's Pascal cards to come out before getting that GTX 970. The GTX 1070 is releasing on June 10th.

id just recommend a 600w if he wants to get a second graphics card just in case.

One stronger GPU > two weaker ones.

Why? Because SLI can be a pain in the ass (microstuttering, improper utilisation, effectively giving you the power of only one card in some cases). Not to mention the added heat and power consumption.
