Hello

I have just swapped out my 8320 FX for an i7 4790k, the 4790k has its own integrated graphics. I assume this clean install of Windows may try to install the integrated graphics driver. So as usual  just install it, then install my GPU driver right?

It may be common sense, but I have been an AMD fan boy for over a decade now. Going to be changing over to Intel and Nvidea by the end of the year

Cheers Guys

You can keep your GPU, 290 still kickass. AMD cpu´s are the only ones with problems. And yes, you got it right.

I have had the 290 for three years now though, so it's losing its "kickass" feel and I have a 4k monitor. So when next student loan drops in October, I will be getting a 1080 to expand my 4k capable games collection

Eh, fair enough. What are you going to do with your 290 and 8320?

Windows won't install real drivers for integrated nor dedicated GPUs. Win10 might get almost newest drivers, but you will still need to look for latest on manufacturers site. Also, you can have integrated drivers with AMD/Nvidia drivers. Nvidia and AMD can fight with each other but neither is really that interested about integrated stuff.

Sorry dude, the 8320 went on Ebay with the Mobo for £100, 290 will go around October when I get student finance again.

Windows 10 did actually install the latest Catalyst driver on its own, however I uninstalled it for the beta drivers

Thats why I said might. I run only laptop with Win10. And I've had problems with Windows forcing to update GPU drivers with 7.
