so i threw together some of my parts laying around and still working and i tried to install ubuntu on it via USB-Drive.

As i try to boot via usb it says "BOOTMGR missing". When i googled it, i read that it is a windows error, but i hadnt installed windows on the harddrive i use in this pc before. pls help.

try running the 'try ubuntu without installing' option if you've made a live usb, format the drive through the live disk, restart the machine and run the installer as usual, worked for me on my old dell inspiron thing.
