So... I thought *67 was not traceable or was so that the number would be blocked from identity

Somehow, I got a call back even though I used *67

I took a look at what *69 is, but I don't even know how that works

Would *69 work on *67 and if so, would they then have the number?

*67 just blocks its from caller ID, you can probably get around it somehow, only thing i can think of is calling your phone company and seeing if they can see the number and that might be how they got it?

Nope, I had a look and they can only do that if they go to the police first and then their phone company tells them

Depending on how the call is routed it can be shown. Toll free numbers can't be blocked.   If you call a number and its forwarded to a toll free number it can be seen.   I've done this in the past when my wife was getting strange calls and was able to find out it was a home repair company
