I just got new internet. I have 2 networks I can connect to. One is 2.4 GHz the other is 5 GHz. On my desktop I don't have the option to connect to the 5 GHz one but on my laptop I can. On the 2.4 GHz one I get 25 down and 45 up, but on the 5 GHz one I get 55 down and 60 up. Is there any way I can connect to the 5 GHz one on my desktop? It doesn't even show up on the list of networks. I am on wireless btw.

You Desktop might not support 5GHZ.

and in that case you would need a pcie wifi adapter that supports 5ghz

or you could Ethernet

or you could power line :)

Yeah my desktop adapter is 2.4 GHz. My laptop has a Qualcomm Atheros AR946x. What does power lining mean?

Power Line

its Ethernet using the outlets in your house.

So you find an outlet near your computer and an outlet near your router and plug Ethernet short distance.
