Hello!

I'm about to go to college, and I was looking for a laptop to get for the next 2-3 years.

I'll be using my laptop for several things: YouTube, internet, writing documents (usual college stuff) and sometimes playing games (just simple games, not like BF4).

However, i have a budget off around $500. I'm not exactly familiar with Intel and AMD and therefore I'm asking you guys to help me, because I have no idea what to choose. I would need a 14 - 15.6 inch screen with a descent battery life.

If anyone can help me that would be great!

Thanks!

For that price? Not really possible.

Quality Video editing is a no at any machine under 800-1000.

if you're after Video Editing then ehe Surface Pro 4 Core i5 (albeit the i7 would be better), 128GB should be OK and for everything else it should be awesome.

But you also have to throw in $130 for a type cover.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

You statement isn't accurate, Lenovo has never put any bloatware that is dangerous on ThinkPads. In fact, most ThinkPads don't come with an operating system.

One more person who thinks a ThinkPad comes with bloat. A ThinkPad has never been affected by any of the software problems and bloat a normal Lenovo laptop has had.

That laptop has the same build as a cheap knock off product from China, it will be great if you want it to last a year and be really hot for no reason.

OP a used T440s or T450s are the best laptops you can get for your kind of money.
