Will i get a boost in fps if i get the gtx 1080 or 1070?

Lets say i upgrade from my AMD 7870 to the GTX 1080 or 1070. Will i see a proformance increase with my AMD Phenom 965 CPU? or do you think i would be better off upgrading my CPU First to something like an i5 then going for my graphics card. Thanks

Cuase it's already at it's limits. Upgrading your GPU won't really matter when the CPU is holding you back

im willing to buy.. i have no budget as i can save up. but i dont want overkill and end up saving up for too long.. all i do is 1080p gaming at ultra 60fps plus. that is all i want. i originally got this pc to plat minecraft 4 and a half years ago
