Hello,

So I have some one wanting me to build them a pc for djing but i know nothing about it but this is what he wants.

" I do djing now and then and I am wanting a good computer for my music. I would like it to have 2 music players on it so when I plug it in to a mixer I can select songs to add to play list by listening to them first will the another song is playing from the play list. PCDJ is a program that I would like to use but on my laptop now I just use winamp and I can't listen to a selected song before playing it will another song is playing. Any suggestions."

He says price isnt an issue but I want it to be kept under $1500 if possible also if someone could explain this to me instead of just throwing parts at me that would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I assume so as I said I have no experience with djing setups

That is the case. You need two soundcards so you have two independent outputs for prelistening/-mixing. Apart from that, I don't really see a reason to buy anything expensive.

Molex to SATA, lose all your data

So basically build a matx build that i like aslong as it meets software requirements and then get 2 sound cards?

Wait, so your friend is just doing the dj thing at home? I thought we're after a laptop here?

Maybe talk to your friend again, because he isn't going to carry a PC around with him :D

Also ask him what dj controller he has (if he has one). They usually have a soundcard build in, so you don't have to buy one.

Your friend should be fine with an i5.Also, USB ports are important. A typical scenario would need at least three usb ports (Soundcard,DJ Controller, external harddrive). Hubs aren't very reliable and generally annoying.  You need to get a bit  more info though. Should it be used for anything else (does he need a dedicated gpu)? How big of a screen does he want?

K so PCDJ needs a dedicated gpu so I found an MSI gaming laptop so thats figured out but now for the sound card and that I'm way out in left field for that.
