I want to build a computer for the first time. I have no experience, but I have friend willing to help me. I want to be able to do some light gaming on it, and need help picking some components. I'm trying for around $300 max(not including software). Components don't need to be new. the build is more for the experience of building a computer.

Goes a little over, but you can easily leave off the C7 and wait to overclock, or skip the overclockable CPU entirely and go with a locked A8 to save another $20. This setup gives you the flexibility to add a dedicated GPU down the line while still getting sufficient graphics performance for lightweight games, and the ability to move up in life to an unlocked A10 when money allows (get the GPU first).

Two areas I might catch some flack for: only one stick of RAM and the PSU. I'll address the PSU first: I have two of these, one in an HTPC left on 24/7, one in my wife's overclocked G3258 Skyrim/Minecraft/general purpose desktop. No issues with either one, ever, and the price can't be beat. The RAM was an easy call: the mobo only has two RAM slots, and a 2x4 setup would have killed future upgradeability.

The C7 was added assuming that you'd want an extra intake fan on the side panel eventually. If not, go with a bigger tower cooler (up to 148mm...H7 fits like a glove) that will give you better overclocking performance down the line, or go without an aftermarket cooler entirely if you're staying stock.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Do you really want this to happen to his computer? http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/11/26/exploding_computer_vs_reg_reader/  cause it'll happen it if you keep recommending these crap power supplies.

but do you know his pc specs ,  what if he was overclocking his cpu or gpu wrongly or has paired wrong parts , or any other problem he created without bothering about psu,  anyways the pc specs I have given are extremely low power consuming and can't be OC , so normal psu which is recommended by pcpartpicker psu calculator  would work as desired

No, but i do know that bad power supplies are often overrated and can cause damage to computer parts over time, and instantly if it fails.

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=71

Some of these power supplies couldn't make it anywhere near their claimed wattage output.

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story2&reid=123

Not only is it incapable of running its labeled wattage, but the ripple caused by it would destroy every component in that computer.
