Been trying to figure out how to access the BIOS in my old computer that runs Windows ME and so far holding F10 (If i remember from last night correctly) was only thing that worked. But when I got into it I couldn't find out where to change the startup to the CD I had put into it. Its Compaq by the way. I need help installing Xubuntu on to the computer along with which settings and all I need to change and such. Please help and anything will be appreciated! Thanks!

maybe take a picture with a smartphone and post it or something?  It should all be fairly obvious but if there is something unusual it would help to see it :)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

If it's an Award BIOS then probably:"BIOS FEATURES SETUP" > Boot Sequence > Change to "CDROM,C,A" as far as my memory serves.

This is by pressing F10

Ok my guess is that there is something under either "storage" or "advanced" about setting the boot order

There is. I changed the boot order so the CD-ROM was first but still nothing changed

did you save it?  Do you need to hit a key to make it try cd on boot?  Is the CD corrupt or not bootable or something?

Only thing I can think of is that the CD is too new? if that's even possible. if so my friend has some he says are specifically for linux and such but I didn't ask much about them

It's a DVD... I couldn't find any CD's

oh well that would do it.  Do you actually have a DVD drive then?  Because if not, it may as well have a disk of cardboard in it - equal chances of getting that to boot ;)
