I'm planning a new build SPECIFICALLY for Minecraft PVP, and will be ready to start buying parts next week. The last time I built a pc was in the 386 days, sooo,,, yeah. So far my thought is just put kavari chip on a board and plug it into a monitor, but with a very low budget I think used previous gen stuff could be enough to max out minecraft, and there are so many parts in the middle of the road price range. The goal is to get a shopping list ready for May 3rd and place my order for what ever will meet my requirements saving every penny possible. I have some used parts to work with: An old emachine el1300g-01 that has a miniature case upgraded to a LOW end dual core cpu with 2x2gb ram. This system is running minecraft but wow, ultralag. Also, I have some laptop drives including 1 ssd. A nice viewsonic vx2252mh. Logitech laser wireless mouse. Speakers. Keyboard. ect. Please help. I know everyone wants a budget PC, but I litteraly just play minecraft all day and this build does NOT need to be futureproof in anyway shape or form. PS craigslist is a fail in my area everyone wants full price for used stuff. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Do you want to have enough power to have shaders and these types of mods?

I could spend 500 if I had to, but the point is that I only want to buy what i can feed to minecraft. From what I've seen on linustechtips Minecraft is a dual core program at most and really doesnt rely on a beefy gpu, that's why I'm seeking help. This machine will never ever be intended for modern 1080p stuff. With my old eyes lower res looks better anyway. The things I can't use now that I would like to use are anti-aliasing, nicer shadows, and a more timely and accurate render at... 8 chunks. I wont be recording or running 20 windows, just good old Minecraft PvP.

its a bit of a..

7850k+A88 vs 7400k+A68 vs g3258+mobo..

I realize 20 more here and there will make it better, but before I do that it would be nice to know if all that overhead would really be needed, or do i just get a micro mobo and stuff it into the Emachine case with a new psu strapped to the top. (emachine only has a 220w factory) Classic case of back alley vs current tech, and with minecraft I have a hunch that back alley would be enough gas to make it pretty.

So here's what I have so far..

AMD 860k on a MSI A68-grenade with Radeon 7770 1gb DDR5, running 2x 8gb 1866 (to include ramdisk for cache and minecraft.) I'm using an old 2.5 SSD and 2.5 7200 HDD as well as an optical drive all on a 500w evga psu in a Rosewill micro ATX, and using my old usb mouse, keyboard, speakers, and Win7 64bit. I would appreciate any tips regarding this build. Any suggestions for gpu, should I upgrade the cpu sink, is this better than buying an A10 series and skipping the gpu, possible jump to 144hz? ...and any other suggestions or pointers.. Usage: I'll be on pvp minecraft almost exclusively, and very rarely something like sims 4, civ V, Inquisition. Also chrome, zone alarm, and heavy downloading-when I dont have a game running. I have checked all compatibility per msi website.
