Thanks,i remember seeing a page similar to this for another board before but couldn't fine one for the alpha. Looks like they're not compatible :/ thanks again though ill use this going forward.

Kingston is running at JEDEC standard, they are always compatible...

Board seems built well for longevity or add ons, going with an i7 6700k and I wasn't aware that was super cheap memory, just seemed like a good ddr4 kit from Kingston, ram is ram.

ram is ram but if you're going so much overkill with with the board... well then why not use some crazy 4000MHz kit?

I'd say mobo is mobo on the other hand...

CPU: Intel i7 5820K @ 4.20 GHz | MotherboardMSI X99S SLI PLUS | RAM: Corsair LPX 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz | GPU: Sapphire R9 Fury (x2 CrossFire)
Storage: Samsung 950Pro 512GB // OCZ Vector150 240GB // Seagate 1TB | PSU: Seasonic 1050 Snow Silent | Case: NZXT H440 | Cooling: Nepton 240M
FireStrike // Extreme // Ultra // 8K // 16K

I could look more into it I believe hyper x offers a 4000mhz kit but I didn't realize higher frequency ram did all that much for performance, otherwise though on the board yah its expensive but I like the features it comes with such as 5 way optimization and kinda decent price point compared to the formula version or a x99 board. Also the ram appeals to me because the 2133 is a plug and play kit vs their other ram which goes to 3000 MHz but manual setup, just more convenient as a first time builder.

Forgot to includ difference between the 2 ram models aside from speed

5-way optimization, lel (:

memory does matter: https://www.akkadia.org/drepper/cpumemory.pdf

Eh still like the motherboard, built in fan controller amongst other things so im going with it. Otherwise though thank you, gonna go for a 16gig kit of 3000mhz ram instead.
