I recently bought a momentary switch with an led ring for my modded case to turn the computer on and the ring led is for displaying power led (http://amzn.to/1MIXGct). I'm really confused though because I found no online documentation about the product and I'm not sure if I can hook the led directly up to the power led headers on the motherboard which I believe are 5 volts or if I have to use the 1.5k ohm resistor that came with it. The only thing that it says on the led is 2A 250VAC.

My GTX 970 carries me to global.

Do you have the document or photo of it I believe that is the max current the switch can handle, but you should be able to hookup the LED directly as the front panel header provide 3.3V and currently limited for the LEDs.

But do I have to use the 1.5kohm resistor that came with it? Or do you think I'd be fine without it?

It should be good without it as the front IO current limits for for standard LED's. Easy way to check is to use a 3V watch battery to see if the LED lights on the switch.

Thanks for the help, I'm still confused what it meant by 250vac.
