In other words u want to put someones words/line as quote in your signature... 
I would do like: 

1) click to quote that line/message which I want to put in signature.. 
Then mark quote, then copy it,, and latter paste in signature window... :)

Is there a way to put a proper quote with username of poster, date etc in a signature? At the moment I can only see how to make something that just says "Quote" but I'd like it to say who said it.

Wait it worked for you :/

When I did it it cut off the top of the quote box so said no name :(

Don't cut,, simply mark, then click and hold CTRL + C. Then open  your profile in secondary tab,, then to to signature and paste it.. :)

Yeah, I didn't realise the glowing edge around the quote meant anything significant :D
