http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01949110   the link here is the computer I would like upgrade reccomendations for please. As in like graphics cards I could fit into it or processor upgrades that would fit. Also if there was a kit of ram someone could reccomend for me please. I can barely have like 6 tabd open in chrome withought a lot of lag and I heard ram could help with that. All help will be thanked for in my head even if I don't say it on the forum. Thanks!

I highly recommend you save up for a new computer.

You can buy a few things now, like an SSD or some RAM and reuse it in the new build, but in general upgrade paths require a new MOBO, case, and PSU

This ain't actually for me and the person I'm upgrading it for only needs it for office work. Word, excel and Google chrome are some things they use alot. The person doesn't like to close chrome tabs ever so I thought maybe someone could reccomend a kit of ram that would work.

If it just for office use then it should be fine maybe some more ram to 6Gb or higher, if anything, but it should be fine chrome doesn't use to much ram unless they have 200+ tabs open.

It gives you suggestions on processor upgrades, but it's on the AM3 platform. So look up AMD CPUs on AM3 (not AM3+ bc that won't fit) and as for ram, I don't know. It says something about only being able to support up to 4gbs of ram, and it only has 2 DIMM slots. So unfortunately, nothing can really be done with the ram that'll show a actual performance increase.

Besides that, maybe a SSD and a new CPU would be enough. SSD might be the next best thing since the ram can't be upgraded

The HP website doesn't specify a max amount of RAM for a 64 bit system; You could get a 8 or 16 GB kit of DDR3 and hope for the best... but that's all you can do.

I would expect it to support up to 8, but you have no way of knowing if the BIOS currently supports 8 or if the RAM you get will be compatible.

You should be able to get an SSD though, which can by reused in a new build as well.

I don't recommend upgrading the processor, it will be a very small performance increase, especially compared to getting a new $600+ computer
