I do not know a lot about networking so take it easy on me lol. The picture below is a basic diagram on what i plan on doing for my home network setup. The routers i currently have do not support Gigabit speeds so i thought about getting cheap Gigabit switches in order to increase my network speed. The first router connected to the modem is the main router and will give out IP addresses 1.1 through 1.50. The secondary router will give out IP addresses 2.1 through 2.50. What I am mainly concerned about is if PC - 2 will be able to transfer files to the File Server at a full Gigabit speed or if the slower router will interfere with it. And yes the Server, PCs, and modem support Gigabit speed. Also I do not know if using an un-managed switch will effect anything or not.switch setup.png

Why do you need 2 wireless routers? You might find that internet doesn't work on a device that's picked up its IP address from the one not connected to the internet.

Unless you really need it, then I would turn the other DHCP server off and let the one connected to your Internet handle the DHCP requests.

Are you sure the switch inside your routers don't support GB? Most ones nowadays do.

If you go from PC at GB to GB Switch to GB Switch to File Server at GB, then it wont touch the router at all. So it will connect through at full GB.

Unmanaged switches are ok for home use.

Instead of 2 routers, I would suggest using the second one as AP (access point, some routers have this function) or actually getting a separate device for it.

PC-2 should be able to access the file server fine as long as the routers do not interfere with each other (only one DHCP server).
